FISHING REPORT FOR OCTOBER 28, 2009

CENTRAL

Draper: Due to pump failure and the lake's small watershed lake elevation is below normal. Boat access to the lake is poor and a longer walk to bank fish. The main fishing docks are still floating. One boat ramp is barely usable.

CENTRAL

Overholser: October 5. Elevation 3-4 ft. below normal. Striped bass hybrids good to excellent off windy shores. Catfish fair. Crappie fair. Report submitted by Ron Comer, game warden stationed in Canadian County.

Black Bear Hunting in Oklahoma

Oklahoma's first black bear season off to good start
Three firsts came Oct. 1 for Nashoba bowhunter Joe Russell when he became the first Oklahoma hunter to harvest a black bear on the first day of Oklahoma's first inaugural bear archery season.
Russell checked in his bear with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation on opening morning shortly after harvesting the bear on a private hunting lease in Pushmataha County. The healthy female black bear weighed 170 lbs. field dressed. Wildlife… Continue

FISHING REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 23, 2009

CENTRAL

Arcadia: September 18. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water 80 and semi-clear. Largemouth bass fair to good on worms at 10 ft. around brush piles and tree lines. Channel catfish fair to good on liver and worms at 10 ft. around north and south points and coves. Crappie good on minnows at 12 ft. around north and south brush piles.
