CENTRAL
Arcadia: March 9. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 18-20 ft. over brush piles and from the heated dock. White bass fair on white grubs and spinnerbaits near boat ramps. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut shad near the rocky points and on the dam. Report submitted by Mark Murray, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.
Arcadia: March 5. Elevation slightly above normal, water 42 and semi-clear. Blue catfish fair to good on cut bait and shrimp at 20-30 ft. at northeast point around rocks in the evening. Crappie fair to good on minnows and jigs at 15 ft. on the south side at enclosed heated dock in the evening. All other fishing fair. Report submitted by Linnie Mason, gate attendant.
Overholser: March 7. Water murky. White bass good on white or yellow grubs and live bait around docks and banks. Crappie good on white or yellow grubs and live bait around docks and banks. Report submitted by Joey Rushing, game warden stationed in Canadian and Oklahoma counties.
Thunderbird: March 9. Elevation normal, water clear. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 7-9 ft. around brush piles and structure. Wes Watkins: March 8. Elevation normal, water 44. Largemouth bass fair on plastic worms at 8 ft. Report submitted by Mike France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.
NORTHEAST
Carl Blackwell: March 9. Elevation normal, water 47 and murky to muddy. Crappie fair on jigs. Saugeye fair on jigs. Report submitted by Jon Cunningham, game warden stationed in Payne County.
Copan: March 7. Elevation above normal. Blue catfish fair to good on worms and cut shad near Copan Point and Washington Cove. Crappie slow in creeks running into the lake and near the dam. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.
Eucha: March 9. Elevation slightly above normal, water 49 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 12-14 ft. around brush and structure. Largemouth bass fair on jerk baits. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.
Ft Gibson: March 7. Elevation 1/2 ft. below normal, water 45 and stained. White bass slow on rattletraps and crankbaits; starting up river and creeks. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs deep under the docks. Report submitted by Rick Stafford at Wagoner.
Greenleaf: March 8. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits around rocky points, channels and shoreline. Channel catfish good on fresh cut bait on bottom along the spillway and channels. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around brush structure. Hulah: March 7. Elevation near normal. Blue catfish being caught on cut shad and worms near the dam. Crappie being caught on minnows in shallow creeks entering into the lake. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.
Kaw: March 8. Elevation below normal, water mid 40s and clear mid-lake to dam. Blue catfish slow on juglines with cut bait at 25-35 ft. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 12-20ft. over structure during times of water release. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.
Keystone: March 10. Elevation above normal, water clear. Striped bass good on bucktail jigs below the dam. Channel catfish good on shad sides and shad guts. Crappie good on fire-tail tube jigs, minnows and crappie nibbles at 3-5 ft. along the banks in the lake. Report submitted by Woodys Bait and Tackle II.
Lower Illinois: March 2. Elevation normal, water 49 and clear. White bass fair on spinnerbaits and jigs at 2-4 ft. below Gore Landing. Striped bass and striped bass hybrids fair on jigs near the bottom below Gore Landing. Channel catfish good on cut bait on bottom all along the river. Crappie slow on jigs at 1-4 ft. below Gore Landing. Trout good on flies at the surface, on rooster tails at 1-2 ft. and on power bait on bottom above Gore Landing. Report submitted by D. Oologah: March 6. Elevation 2 ft. above normal and falling, water upper 40s and muddy. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 20 ft. around brush piles. Crappie being caught on minnows around brush in area creeks around the lake. Blue catfish fair on shad below the dam. White bass fair on jigs below the dam. Skiatook: March 8. Elevation 3/4 ft. above normal, water mid 40s and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 20 ft. around structure. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.
Sooner: March 9. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on sassy shad and topwater lures in the discharge. Blue catfish good on cut shad in the discharge. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around brush piles. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.
Spavinaw: March 9. Elevation slightly above normal, water 46 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around the dam area. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.
Webbers Falls: March 8. Elevation 3 ft. above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits along riprap and creek channels. Channel catfish good on fresh cut bait drift fishing channels. Crappie fair on minnows and purple jigs around brush structure. NORTHWEST
Canton: March 6. Lake elevation 1 1/2 ft. below normal. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs near brush along Canadian River area. Channel catfish fair on cut shad. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.
Ft. Supply: March 7. Elevation 1 ft. above normal. White bass good on jigs and spinnerbaits in the lake along the dam. Crappie fair on jigs and spinnerbaits below the dam. SOUTHEAST
Arbuckle: March 6. Elevation above normal, water 46-49 and stained up creeks. Crappie good on minnows around docks and on chartreuse jigs off main lake brush piles. White bass good under gulls, starting up creeks. Bass fishing slow on crankbaits in shad patterns and drop shot. Report submitted by Jack Melton.
Broken Bow: March 7. Elevation below normal, water clearing. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on spoons. White bass on yellow or white roadrunners and 3 inch twirl-tailed grubs in chartreuse or white look for staging in the next two weeks. Walleye being caught on crawdad colored crankbaits, rogues and 5 inch twirl-tailed grubs with lead head, look for running on upper Mt. Fork and upper-end and head of lake. Eufaula: March 7. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water clear in the east and murky in the west. Largemouth bass fair on jerk baits and plastic baits in rocky areas on the east side. White bass good on jigs below the dam when running water. Blue catfish good on shad drifting the deeper flats. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 10-14 ft. along riprap at I-40 and boat docks with brush. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.
Hugo: March 7. Elevation normal. White bass beginning to stage in the upper Kiamichi River near the cutoff. Crappie fair on minnows along the creek channels and good on jigs at 9-15 ft. below the dam. Catfish fair on cut shad in the lower lake. Konawa: March 8. Elevation normal, water 52 and clear. Largemouth bass good on plastic worms at 3-8 ft. around points and cattails. White bass fair on jigs and spoons at 15 ft. in the discharge canal. Report submitted by Daryl Howser, game warden stationed in Seminole County.
Lower Mt. Fork: March 8. Expect muddy water conditions in the Evening Hole and downstream; water should be clear and fishable early in the morning. Last weekend the power house was dormant, which allowed anglers to fish Zones 2 and 3. Fishing in Zone 2 was said to be poor, while Zone 3 was producing lots of fish. In the upper part of Zone 1 lots of small fish were caught, as well as several fish in the 15-19 inch range. This is a partial list of flies that have been working: Zebra midge, copper john, pheasant tail, wooly bugger, egg patterns, March brown mayfly, blue winged olive mayfly and a host of others. McGee Creek: March 7. Elevation 4 1/2 inches above normal, water 47 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 16-25 ft. best off of creek channels around submerged brush. Largemouth bass fair on soft plastic lures 12-24 ft. around cover. Report submitted by Larry Luman, game warden stationed in Atoka County.
Pine Creek: March 7. Elevation normal, water clear. Bass fair on crankbaits near structure in deeper water. Crappie fair on jigs near the half bridge. Catfish good on chicken liver below the spillway. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.
Robert S. Kerr: March 6. Elevation normal, water 51 and murky. Crappie good on minnows around brush piles and drift fishing the Big San Bois Creek area. Catfish fair on fresh shad and fishing the break off area between the shallow water and deeper river channels. Largemouth bass slow with a few being caught in the upper Big San Bois Creek. Texoma: March 7. Elevation 1 3/4 ft. above normal, water 44 and murky north and clear south. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair to good in the south part of the lake. Striped and white bass fair to good around the points and creek channels. Channel and blue catfish fair from Platter Flats to the north. Crappie fair in Widow Moore and Kansas creeks. Wister: March 7. Elevation normal, water murky. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 15-25 ft. around structure. Channel catfish fair on juglines with cut shad and liver. Report submitted by Randy Fennell, game warden stationed in LeFlore County.
SOUTHWEST
Altus-Lugert: March 7. Elevation 15 3/4 ft. below normal and rising slowly. Trout season is open until March 15. Trout are really hitting in the river. Crappie and walleye being caught around the Hicks Mountain Area. Report submitted by Sue Hokanson, Quartz Mountain State Park.
Ellsworth: March 7. Elevation normal with 1 floodgate open. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 14-17 ft. at Ralphs Resort. Report submitted by Mike Carroll, game warden stationed in Comanche County.
Foss: March 9. Elevation 1/2 ft. below normal with gates closed, water mid 40s and clear. Crappie fair around fish house on live bait. Striped bass hybrids slow in deep water. Catfish slow in channels. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B & K Bait House.
Lawtonka: March 7. Elevation normal with all floodgates closed. Crappie slow to fair at the dam. Report submitted by Mike Carroll, game warden stationed in Comanche County.
